Are you worried about your mental health?

Are you worried about your mental health?

14th May 2025

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health and yet it’s often neglected.

Feelings of stress, anxiety, depression and low mood are often brushed under the carpet as we get on with our busy lives.

Mental health awareness week gives us a great opportunity to focus on our mental well being and maximise our mental strength and resilience.

We know keeping physically fit and active has a positive effect on our mental health and this is why mental health awareness week is focusing on keeping moving. Being physically active releases endorphins, which boost our mood, being outside in the fresh air makes us feels good and being physically tired, helps us to sleep which then has a knock-on positive affect on our mental wellbeing.

Treating mental illness early is important and if we can spot the signs of deteriorating mental health early on then we can treat it more effectively.

There are lots of treatments available from techniques to manage stress, to talking therapies and drug therapies.
